One Album.
One Song At A Time.
Dissect is a serialized music podcast that analyzes one album per season, one song per episode. Host Cole Cuchna unpacks the music, lyrics, and meaning behind the records that define their era.
Since 2016, Dissect has spent multi-month seasons inside the catalogs of Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, Tyler, The Creator, Radiohead, Daft Punk, and more — taking the album form seriously when most of pop culture has moved on from it.
The show treats songs the way a film professor treats movies: close-read, frame-by-frame, with deep attention to lyrics, production, samples, and the historical context that shaped the work. The reward is a richer relationship with music you thought you already knew.
Cole Cuchna built Dissect after working as a music teacher and composer. Every season is researched, written, and edited like a long-form essay — released a chapter at a time. The result is a listening experience closer to a course than a chat show.
New episodes are released regularly. Members get the full back catalog ad-free, plus bonus seasons and members-only deep dives. Whatever album you love, there is a season here that takes it as seriously as you do.
